Celebs come together for funeral of Egyptian artist extraordinaire Zizi Al Badrawy
Goodbye, Zizi! This is the sad reality we all must mutter as a late, great Egyptian artist has passed on. An actress perhaps best known for her 1967 "El dakhi" role, Zizi El-Badrawy's life came to an end on Friday at the age of 85, reported the Cairo Post, and many a celebrity arrived at the funeral of the famed starlet to pay their respects.
As a sign of honor for their co-patriot peformer, Mervat Amin and belly dancer Fifi Abdo actually adorned the hijab, Islamic headdress for the ceremony.
Other celebs that appeared to offer condolences to Zizi's family were Samir Sabri, Rania Farid Shawki, Samiha Ayoub, Suhair Al Murshadi and her daughter Hannan Imtawi', Ashraf Abdel Ghafour, Liblibah, Rashawan Tawfiq, Hani Muhanna, Ashraf Zaki and Wafa Amer, according to Laha Magazine.
Those stars unable to attend the funeral made sure to still post their farewells on Facebook and Twitter. Sherihan typed, "My family and I and all the Egyptian nation mourn the loss of dear Zizi Al Badrawy, God gives and God takes, and may her soul rest in peace."
