Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates announces the appointment of Dr Shylaja Pillai as the new Spa Manager at Softouch Spa, one of the most respected Ayurvedic spas in Dubai.

Dr Pillai brings more than nine years of experience in spa management and alternative medicine to her new position, eight of which have been spent in a managerial and consulting role within the Softouch spa portfolio in the UAE and India, at five-star properties such as Softouch Ayurveda Spa ‐ Le Meridian Al Aqah Beach Resort in Fujairah; Softouch Ayurveda, Cleopatra Spa in Dubai and Softouch Spa ‐ Le Meridian Cochin, in India.

Dr Pillai holds a Bachelors Degree in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery from Kerala University in India and has completed the Spa Management Course from Cleopatra Steiner Institute in Dubai. She is accredited by the UAE Ministry Of Health as a General Practitioner and is licensed to practice in Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates by the Dubai Health Authority.

Dr Pillai lives in the UAE with her husband and two children. Her interest in ayurveda,fitness regimes, health and beautycare extends beyond the professional sphere to research activities. Dr Pillai’s other interests include astrology, music and cooking.
