UAE singer Abdullah Bil Khair has shocked everyone with his recent revelation about spending a million dollars in votes for Egyptian contestant Carmen Suleiman, who recently won the title of ‘Arab Idol 2012’ in its first season. The voting process is based on sending SMS through a cellular phone to the program that is organized by the Arab satellite channel MBC and each SMS or vote costs a certain amount depending on the wireless carrier.
Abdullah stated that he saw a true star in Carmen and is very confident that she will be a great success and become more popular that Lebanese singers Haifa Wahbi and Nancy Ajram. He added that she possess a great voice and also great looks.
The singer’s revelation gave rise to criticism and the singer was accused of always splurging his money on meaningless things like voting for a contestant on a talent show, where he should be spending his millions on matters that are for the good of humanity and for helping those in need.
