Ahlam disappoints the Gulf society
UAE singer Ahlam is facing crucial attacks by her Gulf audience on the internet after she appeared on the show “Ala Shatt Al Hawa” (On the beach) hugging Lebanese singer Ragheb Alamah.
Ahlam’s actions gave rise to strong criticism against her since they are not representative of Gulf society and go against their conservative traditions and ethics. Many of those that started the attacks said they condemn Ahlam for acting in such a manner and called on everyone to boycott her music and concerts. They added that she had crossed the red lines, which she as a Gulf artist she should not have.
Campaigns are being launched against Ahlam on different internet websites also telling her to no longer consider herself as the Gulf countries number one female artist, because her actions state otherwise and she is not fit for such a title.
