Mina Shalabi's mother takes off Hijab to act
Resigned Egyptian belly dancer Zizi Mustafa, mother of actress Mina Shalabi, publicly announced that she has decided to take of the Hijab (Islamic headdress), denying being pressured to do so from anyone especially her daughter. Zizi stated that such a decision concerns her alone and is a private matter between her and God.
Zizi also denied rumors that her need for money is behind her decision to take off the Hijab and return to her career. She stressed that her love of work is behind her decision. Zizi stressed that her daughter did not interfere in the decision and let her do as she pleases adding that people should not stress on the issue and judge her based on the works she takes part in and her attitude.
Zizi revealed that her wish to return to acting is to satisfy her desire to work and not for financial reasons. Zizi noted that Mina advised her not to accept any offer to star in any project unless it suits her history and achievements as a prominent actress. She said that her daughter wants her to make a strong and memorable comeback to the scenes.
