Omar Al Shareef’s grandson announces he is a homosexual

Internationally known Egyptian actor Omar Al Shareef’s
grandson, who is named Omar after his grandfather, has publicly announced that
he is a homosexual. Omar the grandson also said that his mother is Jewish and
he fears that the new government in Egypt will prosecute him and all
homosexuals.
Omar the grandson wrote an article on the American internet
website “Advocate” that is especially for homosexuals that he lives in a state
of fear for himself, his family and his country. He added that his family will
be shocked when they read his revelation since they prefer he stays in the
closet especially in the upcoming period with conditions unstable in Egypt.
According to the internet website MBC.net, in the article
Omar the grandson wrote that he admits to being Egyptian and half Jewish and
that he is a homosexual. He added that with the rise of a number of Islamic
parties to the political scenes he has many questions specifically regarding if
his will be welcomed in the new Egypt.
Omar the grandson stated that he wanted to speak out because
his loves his country Egypt and there are a lot of Egyptians in his same
condition afraid to speak out and he wants to make sure that any new government
will respect the rights of its citizens and treat them equally regardless of
their sexual preferences.
