Shireen denies being banned in Egypt
Egyptian singer Shireen Abd Al Wahab was recently in the Lebanese capital Beirut to film an episode for an entertainment program on one of the Arab satellite channels. While in Beirut, Shireen held several interviews with the press in which she talked about her latest album “Is’al Alai” (Ask about me) that was recently released.
According to the London based Elaph, Shireen said that she had made the right selection of songs in the album and it had met the satisfaction of her fans around the Arab world and hopes that she always meets the expectations of her fans in future works.
In the recent period, the press was occupied with reports of a dispute between Shireen and head of the Egyptian Musician Union, Eman Al Bahir Darweesh, and that the dispute had led Eman to release a decision of prohibiting Shireen from singing in Egypt.
With regards to the dispute, Shireen said that no official decision was ever made to ban her from singing in Egypt and the subject of the disputes were exaggerated and made bigger than they really are.
