Nancy Ajram wins World Music Award for "Best Arab Singer"
She's got the title again, and now all she has to do is wait until the ceremony on May 27 to be presented with the "Best Arab Singer" award.
John Martinuti, establisher of the prestigious World Music Award revealed that Lebanese diva Nancy Ajram is the artist who won this year’s award for the category “Best Arab Singer” and will be presented with the award during a special event to be held at the Sporting Hall in Monaco.
This will be the third time Nancy wins the same award, the first in 2008 for the album “Bitfakar Fi Eih” (What are You Thinking of) and again in 2011 for the album “Nancy 7”.
According to Sayidaty.net, this year’s event will be attended by a mass of Arab celebrities, like her coca-cola World Cup co-singer Algerian Rai singer Cheb Khaled.
John gabbed that the Arab presence will be seriously big this year, stressing the importance of the region’s participation in the event that he started back in 1989 . He added that Arab singers had been nominated for awards across many categories.
Despite the secrecy being taken regarding the names nominated for awards, it was slipped that the singers competing for the category "Best Song" are Egyptian superstar Amr Diab for his song “Al Layla” (Tonight), Moroccan singer Samira Saeed for her song “Ma Zal” (Still) and Lebanese singer Carole Samaha for the song “Ihsas” (Feelings).
