Can east Aleppo civilians leave?
On Twitter and elsewhere today, news escape notices given to civilians in east Aleppo by the regime spread

The notices have been described as an ultimatum by some. The regime of Syrian president Bashar al-Assad is telling east Aleppans to leave, or face further bombing.
Many in east Aleppo don’t want to leave. Some fear retribution from the regime if they do, others are committed to the Syrian revolution and thus reject the regime’s plan. And many are simply attached to their homes.
However, even those who want to leave are not able to safely. Several sources claimed that rebel groups in the city are shelling east Aleppo’s exit points in an effort to prevent civilians from leaving the city.
This prompted some to criticize the rebels, including pro-regime tweeters.
Free the people in east Aleppo. They're being held hostage. If they try to leave; they are executed. #AleppoHostageCrisis— Leith Abou Fadel (@leithfadel) October 20, 2016
It seems civilians in east Aleppo are likely to continue suffering no matter what.
