Egypt: Former PM questioned by military prosecutors
Egypt's former prime minister Ahmed Nazif on Monday was questioned by military prosecutors on charges of corruption, a military source told AFP. Nazif is accused of seizing state-owned properties and squandering public money.
Meanwhile, the trial of former Egyptian Interior Minister Habib El Adly has been postponed until August 3 -- the same day the toppled president is expected to stand trial. El Adly and former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak face charges of killing demonstrators during the protests which started on January 25th. El Adly's trial at a Cairo court was expected to be carried live on state television Monday. The decision to delay came a few moments before the beginning of the trial. Adli appeared for the first time in a blue suit he received in prison. The delay announcement was accompanied by protests of pro democray activists who questioned the reasons behind the decision.
