Iranian students go to Bahrain to support protests
Iranian students from the Iranian city of Bushehr decided to go to the Kingdom of Bahrain and participate there in the Shiite protests. According to Iranian sources, they left the country on fishing boats in order to "stand by the unarmed Bahraini people," they said.
According to news agency reports, the move by the students came «spontaneously», as they left the city of Bushehr on Friday en route to Bahrain via fishing boats for because Iranian authorities declined to provide them support.
The students had organized sit in protest against what they described as «massacres» against the Bahraini people, denouncing the deployment of Gulf troops to protect the ruling Al Khalifa family.
They said in a statement: "There are massacres against the people of Bahrain at the hands of the Islamic forces which occupied this country," stressing that the purpose of their departure to Bahrain is to "stand by the Bahraini people who are unarmed."
