Man Utd chasing Roma's Strootman
Manchester United have already identified several top priority targets for the summer transfer plans of new manager Louis Van Gaal. One of the primary signings in his sights is believed to be Dutch midfielder and AS Roma star Kevin Strootman.
Although Strootman has only been in Rome for a year since his move from PSV Eindhoven, the 24-year-old midfielder is looked at as one of many new faces needed to change the fortunes and future for United for the better.
Strootman scored six goals in 28 appearances for Roma this campaign and his previous experience as a captain for the Dutch National Team on a few occasions shows the faith that Van Gaal is expected to place on Strootman show he be able to secure a deal.
The Mirror reports that United are set to offer Roma £25 million in order to take the Dutchman to Old Trafford, and with him technically only playing a bit part role at Roma this past season, the Wolves are likely to accept if the offer holds true.
The arrival of the Dutchman would also be a statement that their is most certainly going to be a midfield shake up at United as this will be one of their most crucial summer transfer windows in over a decade as Van Gaal tries to repair a sinking ship.
