Report: Israel building 350 housing units in West Bank settlements

An Israeli newspaper said Wednesday that since the building freeze in the West Bank was lifted some ten days ago, bulldozers have been working on the construction of 350 new housing units in various Jewish settlements. According Haaretz, the Yesha Council, who manages the settlers' activities has voiced satisfaction over the large amount of construction that has taken place so far.

Danny Dayan, head of the Council, conveyed "construction in Judea and Samaria (West Bank) is resuming normalcy. After ten wasted months, that only caused harm and didn't benefit anybody, we are returning to routine." He went on to say "When you throttle someone's neck for two months, he does not start breathing four times as heavy, he starts breathing normally. That is what is happening right now in the settlements."

The paper reported that Palestinian laborers are working in the construction sites, defying the Palestinian Authority's economic boycott on the settlements.
