Mashreq, one of the UAE’s leading financial institutions announced the launch of its Ramadan Drive in association with Beit Al-Khair Society, a humanitarian beneficial entity established in 1989. The drive takes places the Holy month of Ramadan, is aimed to collect donations from employees, both in kind and cash. All proceeds from the one month long campaign will go towards the Orphans program by the Society.
The campaign comes in line with Mashreq’s CSR strategy and asserts the bank’s efforts to constantly participate in noble causes and support the community.
Mohd Al Atassi, Head of Corporate Communication at Mashreq said, “The Holy month of Ramadan is an important occasion to join efforts and extend a helping hand to those who are less fortunate. At Mashreq, our primary goal is implementing donation campaigns whenever opportunities arises and act upon our commitment towards social responsibility.”
The Beit Al-Khair Society aims to aid the poor and vulnerable including widows, patients, low-income families, and the families of disabled and special needs. This includes orphans and many others, through partnerships with various charitable and social organizations within the UAE.
Employees will have designated area in four different office locations, where items varying from clothes, stationary items, and toys amongst others can be donated. The campaign includes cash donations where an account number has been set up for this purpose and all proceeds will be handed to the Society.
On the last week of Ramadan, officials from Beit Al Khair will set up kiosks at Mashreq offices in Dubai Outsource Zone for employees to receive information on the various charitable programs of the Society and learn the various ways to continue lending support.
