Gaza in Context: Giving Much-Needed Context to a Brutal Siege
The project was released on July 19 to coincide with the two-year anniversary of Operation Protective Edge, Israel’s brutal attack on Gaza in July/August 2014. Its objective is to provide the necessary context to challenge the Western media’s prevalent, ahistorical claims about Gaza. In doing so, the project provides a specific, accessible framework for conceptualizing the situation in Gaza and greater Palestine, one that revolves around settler-colonialism.
