NETGEAR, a worldwide provider of technologically advanced branded networking and storage products, has been ranked as a global leader in the Network-Attached Storage segment in the latest ‘Market Share: Network-Attached Storage (NAS) / Unified Storage Worldwide 2010’ report released by leading IT research firm, Gartner. The report shows the global NAS market grew by 37.4 per cent in 2010, which translates to total revenue of over AED 13.6 billion. NETGEAR ranked number one in global vendor revenue share for NAS/unified storage systems priced under AED 18,400; number four for NAS / unified storage systems under AED 92,000 and ranked eighth in the NAS / unified systems overall segment. To further entrench its leadership in the networking and storage segments, the company will host a special roadshow event with its global technology partner, Acronis, on June 22, 2011 at The Metropolitan Hotel in Dubai. The event will see the launch of NETGEAR’s new Global Partner Program and will also announce the release of Acronis Backup and Recovery 11.
The Gartner report further shares that in 2010, NETGEAR took the lead in the AED 18,400 market segment. The company also moved two positions forward in the under AED 92,000 segment and moved up two positions in the total market. The report reveals that the worldwide vendor revenue for the low-end network-attached storage and unified storage market grew by 18.4 per cent or around AED 4.4 billion in revenue in 2010. The estimated low-end iSCSI SAN portion of the unified storage market also demonstrated an increase of over 60 per cent or AED 415.8 million. Gartner’s latest industrial report reflects the company’s leadership in the global storage market and strategically positions the NETGEAR brand among the world's largest storage vendors.
