A new leaf: Evolution of print to e-books

As Kindles move in to occupy the same space as printed books, will there be a significant content shift in the material we read?
On The Death Of Print
With printed books under threat to the Kindle and the digital medium of reading, will the content of the books be affected by the change of the format? Mustapha shares a Forbes piece that probes the implications of e-books for content and even piracy.
"There’s a great interview in Forbes with Tim O’Reilly the creator of a publishing empire. I figured I’d share with you his important insight on printed books:"....
"Food for thought. What will the book of the future look like?"

Reducing Car Use Through Policy, Citizen Engagement, and Transparency
"Jihad Bitar, a PhD student and urban planner at VIA Architecture, recently blogged about the necessity to integrate Land Use strategies and Transport Planning in policies designed to reduce car dependence in Damascus and the rest of Syria."
"Even though we Lebanese like to think Syrian roads are worse than ours, Bitar’s recommendations could very well apply to our cities."
"Ultimately, the purpose of this is to restore the city’s public paces as places of “movement, experience, and public activity.”

“Expired” Arab regimes.
Sami Jamil Jadallah tells us of the Arab Awakening:
"The Arab leaders seem to be waking up from long sleep, similar to the “people of the cave/ Ahl Alkahaf” the story in the Holy Quran or are waking up from overdose or hang over, even a comma."
But Syria is trying to blame it all on Israel. Or even the Palestinians:
"Dr. Sha’aban went further to claim that outside forces are behind the “fitna” with the intent to spark a sectarian conflict between the majority Sunnis and the minority Alawaite. She even accused Palestinians in the refugee camps are behind the uprising. It seems Palestinians are becoming the “punching” bag for these failed regimes."

Where I stand
"For those of my friends who understand any call for reform as calls to bring the Islamists to rule.
For those of my friends who understand any call for reform as calls to bring the monarchy down.
For those of my friends who want to give the government a chance to do the reform for them.
For those of my friends who got excited about Egypt and Tunis so much that they wish NONE of it touches their home or themselves.
For those of my friends who want to refuse reform in order to protect the status qua with all the well/fear they’ve got..."

Love Jordan or leave!
"I have heard this statement so many times during my time in Jordan and now also recently in relation to the ongoing demonstrations and uproar in Amman.
It seems that many Jordanians aren’t very fond of criticism – there are more than 30 Facebook groups and pages (for example this and this) celebrating the “love it or leave it” mentality. They have more than 6000 members put together…
According to this mentality there is only black and white. Either you love Jordan, everything about it, without any criticism or reservations – or you leave! There is no middle ground."
