“Aida Monumental Opera on Fire” premieres at Emirates Palace
Breathtaking music and special effects showcased at world-famous opera
Emirates Palace is delighted to bring yet another spectacular cultural event to Abu Dhabi, with the GCC premiere of AIDA Monumental Opera on Fire, a massive theatrical production featuring a 300-member crew, state-of-the-art set technology, and a spectacular show of unique fire images and stunning special effects.
Dubbed the “opera of all operas”, the Franz Abraham production directed by Jospeh Rochlitz will be staged at the Emirates Palace on 29 March 2007.
“This is a must-see event that promises a fascinating stage spectacle never before seen in the United Arab Emirates. Aida is one of the oldest love stories in the world, and is given a fresh, contemporary treatment through fire and special effects. We are delighted to showcase this exceptional cultural programme in support of Abu Dhabi’s vision to become the cultural and entertainment capital of the region,” said Noel Massoud, General Manager, Emirates Palace.
Aida began its world tour in Mexico last year, and is scheduled to perform in 20 other countries including Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Belgium, France, Demark, Finland, Hungary and Germany, to name a few. More than 500,000 spectators all over the world are expected to watch the breathtaking opera.
Further announcements on the event and ticket sale details will be made at the end of this month.
