116 Malian Would-Be Immigrants Sent Back from Algeria
More than 100 Malians who were trying to enter Spain illegally through Algeria have been sent back home, diplomatic sources said Monday.
Most of the 116 Malians came from Kayes, in the west of the country. They were intercepted in Algeria, and had been hoping to go through Morocco on their way to Europe.
More than 1,000 other would-be immigrants are currently being held in Algeria, most of them from Senegal, Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Gambia -- BAMAKO (AFP)
