Algerian President to Visit Washington on July 12
Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika will visit Washington on July 12 for talks with President George W. Bush, reported the official Kuwaiti news agency (KUNA).
The two leaders will discuss "bilateral cooperation ... seeking a fresh push, as well as world issues of common concern, in particular the Arab Maghreb, Middle East and Africa," a presidential statement said, cited by the agency.
The US is third on the list of importers of oil from Algeria after Italy and France.
Trade exchange volume between both countries is up to $3 million annually, according to KUNA.
Bouteflika will be the fourth Arab leader to hold talks with Bush.
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Jordan’s King Abdullah and Bahrain’s emir, Sheikh Hamad Al Khalifa, visited Washington during the past two month for talks that focused on the Middle East – Albawaba.com
