Save the Children signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amin Kawar & Sons Co. (shipping & transport), according to which the company, in cooperation with GAC Jordan, will support the Siraj youth leadership program, which is being implemented by Save the Children in cooperation with a number of governmental and non-governmental institutions that work for the youth, and which is funded by the United States Agency for International Development.

As part of the partnership, GAC Jordan and Amin Kawar are shipping 650 Siraj Leadership Tool Kits to five Arab countries where the youth leadership program is being implemented, which includes Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, West Bank/Gaza and Yemen. The MoU was signed by Ms. Nadia Shahin, General Manager of Amin Kawar & Sons Co. and Ms. Paulette Hassell, Co-Country Director of the Save the Children's offices in Jordan & Lebanon.

The Siraj Leadership Tool Kits were launched in Egypt during The Regional Youth Forum - a regional event that took place between August 6-8, 2010. The Tool Kit presents unconventional leadership competencies, case studies and skills to be examined and shared at national and regional levels, ensuring that emerging leaders are at the forefront of positive development approaches.

Ms. Hassell highlighted the importance of the MoU stating, "Save the Children believes in the importance of building strong partnerships with the private sector as they play an extremely important role in supporting our development projects."

Ms. Hassell highlighted the important role and support of Amin Kawar & Sons Co. and GAC Jordan which has allowed Save the Children to provide hundreds of thousands of youth across the five participating countries with Siraj Leadership Tool Kits. She added that Save the Children has been working in Jordan since 1985 and it is a global non-profit organization that brings a lasting and positive change to the lives of children, youth and families in more than 120 countries around the world.

Fadi Nasser, General Manager of GAC Jordan underlined the importance of GAC's cooperation with Save the Children to reach out to the largest number of youth possible across the region by utilizing GACs top quality services and total shipping solutions. Nasser went on to say that he values the efforts put forth to execute such a successful initiative by Amin Kawar and highlighted GACs commitment to the development and support of the local community, especially the youth.
