Armed men kill 12 in Iran
Armed men stopped four cars and killed 12 passengers in southeastern Iran, state-run television reported Sunday. The assailants halted the vehicles on the road between the cities of Kerman and Bam late Saturday, a state-run channel reported. A 10-year-old boy was wounded.
"Armed bandits killed 12 citizens of Bam and set their cars on fire," the report said, according to the AP.
Passengers in another vehicle informed police of the attack, but the assailants fled the area before they arrived.
In March, gunmen posing as security forces killed 21 people on a highway in southeastern Iran near the border with Afghanistan and Pakistan.
