Asnan unites with the largest science competition in Kuwait
The Kuwait Science Fair competition, the largest science competition held in Kuwait, today announced that Asnan Clinic, one of the leading dental clinics in Kuwait, has joined the competition as a silver sponsor, becoming the first health institution to support the Kuwait Science Fair. Asnan Clinic's support will encourage young scientists during their six-month journey in exploring, experimenting and innovating in math and science fields.
The Kuwait Science Fair competition was launched by ExxonMobil Exploration & Production Kuwait Limited and Kuwait Energy in 2008 to empower and encourage students across the country to excel in math and science, compelling them to pursue future careers in related professions.
In its third consecutive year, The Kuwait Science Fair competition is the largest annual math and science competition in Kuwait, and is endorsed by the Minister of Oil, Information and Chairman of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, H.E. Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah.
Asnan Clinic General Manager, Dr. Eisa Al-Eisa said: "Asnan believes in the importance of supporting young talents in Kuwait and encouraging them to excel in the fields they are passionate about. Our role as Kuwaiti companies is to provide them with guidance in their drive to experiment and explore. With further encouragement, we are certain to build a generation of bright scientists who will become professional leaders constantly looking for innovative solutions in medicine and engineering. There is no better opportunity to guide and encourage our youth than the Kuwait Science Fair competition; and we look forward to a year filled with exciting and ground-breaking experiments."
The Kuwait Science Fair Managing Director, Ms. Aseel Al-Turkait said: "We are very excited that Asnan Clinic has joined the Kuwait Science Fair competition this year, as it is the first medical institution supporting the competition since it first launched three years ago. Students will benefit greatly from interacting with Kuwait's leading doctors and professionals at Asnan Clinic."
In its second year ending March 2009, more than 220 students from 46 public and private schools in Kuwait competed in the Kuwait Science Fair. The first place winner received a scholarship in the discipline of her choice from the Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST), in addition to KD750 in cash, as well as an internship at Schlumberger. The winner's school also received a computer lab from Schlumberger and was admitted into Schlumberger's Excellence in Educational Development program (SEED), which works to educate students on global issues influencing their future.
