barclays wealth appoints mitch cox as head of its global investment
Barclays Wealth, the global wealth manager and advisor, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mitch Cox as Managing Director and Head of the Global Investment & Product Office (I&PO). Recognising the significant international reach of Barclays Wealth and the growing importance of its Americas business, Mitch will be based in New York and will also assume responsibility for leading all of Barclays Wealth’s business activities in the Americas. He will report directly to Thomas L. Kalaris, Chief Executive, Barclays Wealth.
Mitch joins from Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management, where he most recently headed up the Global Investment Solutions Group, having previously run its Global Private Client Market Investment & Origination and Structured Products Origination and Sales divisions – all at Managing Director level. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch in 1997, Mitch worked in the Private Bank of the Bankers Trust Company where he was responsible for delivering derivative and hedge fund business. Previous to that he was an attorney at Skadden Arps.

With Mitch’s appointment to Barclays Wealth, Kevin Lecocq will remain in the role of Global Chief Investment Officer (CIO), now reporting to Mitch. In addition, Jack Petersen, Head of Barclays Wealth Americas, and Ian Lowitt, Chief Operating Officer, Barclays Wealth Americas, will also report to Mitch.
