UAE based Belhasa Projects, the leading construction contracting services company, has expanded its GCC footprint with the opening of a full-fledged office in Doha. Though the company has been servicing the Qatar market since 2007, this is the first time that Belhasa Projects has established a direct presence in the market.

Speaking on the company's expansion, Greg Garner, CEO of Belhasa Projects said: "With the vibrant Qatar economy continuing to grow, it provides an ideal environment for Belhasa Projects to showcase our services and provide solutions for a diverse range of clients. The fantastic response we have received for our services in Qatar involving construction of swimming pools, sports facilities and water treatment solutions prompted our expansion into the country. Now with a direct presence in the market we will be able to further enhance our customer service."

Belhasa Projects recently completed a sewage treatment plant for the Barwa Housing Project in Qatar.

The company also announced that it was awarded a new contract from Public Works Authority ASHGHAL for the design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of Tankered Sewage Discharge (TSD) Station and Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE) Pumping Station for Barwa Al Baraha Sewage Treatment Plant in Doha.

Commenting on the new contract win, Garner said: "We are delighted to win the contract from ASHGHAL. This reinforces our strong reputation for quality and service and is a testament to our ability to deliver projects on time and on budget. We have strong expertise in Sewage Treatment Plants and Pumping stations and the project win reflects our underlying strength in this area of business. Our Qatar team is busy bidding for new contracts and the ASHGHAL project is a boost to our operations in the country."
