BMI Bank supports Al Sanabil orphanage with ‘back to school’ donation
As a keen supporter of the communities it operates in, BMI Bank (BMI) has helped to make going back to school a little more exciting for the children at Al Sanabil orphanage this year by donating BD 3000 to their cause.
To mark the occasion, BMI played host to 25 children from the orphanage who visited the banks head office at the Bahrain World Trade Center (BWTC). The children were treated to a tour of the bank’s offices including a tour of the Executive Management floor and boardroom where they had time to talk with colleagues from different areas of BMI. The children were also treated to a surprise with the release of over 500 balloons at Moda Mall’s jewellery dome along with BMI staff, which certainly created a lot of happy, smiling faces - with both the children and shoppers alike. The bank’s 8 branches also participated in the event by giving away balloons to customers who visited the branches on the day, enabling all the staff and customers to get involved in the community initiative.
Commenting on the event, Andrew Bainbridge, Chief Executive Officer of BMI said: “I was delighted to welcome the children along with the staff from Al Sanabil to our corporate office and to get a chance to interact with them personally. The bank, including staff from our 8 branches, really got behind this initiative to help us in bringing to life our ethos of working together with the local community to make a difference in people’s lives and who knows, perhaps we’ve even managed to inspire a few of the children to consider a future in the world of banking!”.
