Four US soldiers were injured when their convoy hit an improvised explosive device near Saddam Hussein's ancestral town of Tikrit, an army spokeswoman said on Wednesday.
The spokeswoman said that the four wounded were in stable condition and that two army Humvee vehicles were damaged in the attack that took place Tuesday afternoon near Tikrit, an estimated 175 kilometres north of the capital Baghdad.
