Cabinet changes in the UAE
President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan issued Monday night a decree on the restructuring of the cabinet.
According to the decision, a new portfolio of ministry of presidential affairs has been created, while other ministries have been merged together.
For instance, the ministry of economy has been merged with the ministry of planning to form a new ministry - for economy and planning, the ministry of petroleum and mineral resources have been merged with the ministry of electricity and water under one ministry to be known as the ministry of energy.
The decree also named the first female minister in the UAE's history after Shaikha Lubna Al Qasimi was appointed as Minister of Economy and Planning. (albawaba.com)
