Car bomb near Cairo kills three
A car bomb in Giza killed three people Wednesday, Reuters reports. Those killed were inside the car and likely on their way to carry out a terrorist operation, a police officer said. Security forces are still attempting to identify the bodies.
Egypt has experienced a spate of violence following the overthrow of former President Mohammad Morsi last year. Supporters of Morsi, who are often members of the Muslim Brotherhood, have staged mass protests and carried out multiple attacks against Egyptian security forces. The current government, led by Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, declared the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization.
