Cavotec launches new series of aura lamps to the middle east
Compact fluorescent lamps in the Long Life series to last longer and reduce the negative impact on the environment.
Cavotec ME, the Middles East’s exclusive distributor of Aura Light International AB, the global leader in Long Life lighting technology, today announces the launch of compact fluorescent lamps, as part of their Long Life light source series.
The new products -- Unique S (single tube) and Unique D (double tube) -- are developed at Aura's own Research and Development department in Sweden, which created the first Long Life fluorescent lamp back in 1980. Aura now has over 700 Long Life products.
Welcoming the launch, Mr. Thomas Widegren, Executive Chairman of Cavotec Middle East, the exclusive distributor of Aura’s lamps in the region, said: “All energy-conscious people should welcome this development. Aura’s Long Life light sources are designed to last at least three times longer than the standard products in the market. The immediate benefit is that users can save money as they do not need to change the fluorescent lamps as often. In the long term, negative impact on environment will be reduced to a third as there will be less need to produce and transport the goods as well as less wastage too.”
The newly developed compact fluorescent lamp is mainly used in office environments, shops, storerooms and as outdoor lighting. They have an average life time of 42,000 hours, which, in a normal office environment, should last approximately 14 years, which is three times longer than for a standard product. As with all fluorescent lamps generally, compact fluorescent lamps are low energy lamps, which can use up to 80% less energy than incandescent lamps in order to provide the equivalent amount of light. This means using 1000 Aura Unique Long Life lamps would save approximately 2 million kWh during its lifetime which will amount to a total saving worth around AED 660,000.
