the children’s museum held a fundraiser costume party
Last week, the Children’s Museum held a costume party that included fun and educational activities to raise funds to bring under privileged children to the museum. The funds raised in this event are to be used to implement one of the Museum’s main objectives - to be accessible to the community at large and provide all children with the opportunity to explore, learn and play.
The fundraising event was attended by one hundred and fifty children and their families and included a variety of activities such as a magic show, story telling in the library, in addition to arts and crafts at the studio. The event also included exhibit related quizzes that the children answered in exchange for treats and concluded with a costume parade for the children.
Ms. Hanya Salah, the museum director, remarked on this fundraising event for the CMJ kids program by saying, “It is very important for us at CMJ that we serve the community at large and reach out to families, schools and communities that might otherwise be unable to come to the museum and facilitate their visit and ensure that as many children and families as possible have the opportunity to visit the museum.
