Chinese Police Academy Graduate Stabs 10 in Knife Frenzy, One Dead
A Chinese police academy graduate was shot dead after he stabbed to death one person and wounded nine others in a drunken frenzy in the northern city of Shenyang, state press reported Wednesday.
Li Zhiyang, 21, indiscriminately attacked pedestrians just after dark Tuesday night, the Liaoshen Evening News said in an online report.
Police arriving on the scene shot and killed Li after he had stabbed to death one man, and left six other males and three females, including two eight-year-old elementary students wounded, it said.
Two of the injured were in serious condition, it said.
Li, a graduate from Shenyang Police Academy, began the attack after a drunken arguement with his girlfriend, the report said. Upon his graduation, he was assigned to work a local prison -- BEIJING (AFP)
