Conclusion of Continual Improvement Symposium and World Quality Day
Continual Improvement Subgroup, a subgroup of Dubai Quality Group "DQG", concluded today the events of "Continual Improvement Symposium", "Quality World Day" and "Quality Test Competition" held at Le Meridian Hotel in Dubai.
The event was held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Said Al Maktoum, president of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, chairman of Dubai Airports Council and honorary sponsor of Dubai Quality Group "DQG". The symposium witnessed the attendance of brilliant figures working in the field of quality and continual improvement, in addition to a large number of experts, specialists and decision makers.
Mr. Khalid Al Jowder, DQG Secretary General said: "This year symposium coincides with the celebration of World Quality Day. We assume reviving this day in the UAE through organizing events aiming at establishing the concept of quality and its standards at the local business society."
"Continual development and improvement are the most important features of UAE economy in all fields. This causes companies and organizations compete to provide their best practices in this field which shows such organizations' commitment to the career of development adopted by the UAE within its sustainable development strategic plan." Al Jowder added.
The symposium included some activities such as "Quality Test Competition" where organizations from public and private sectors took part in. The competition includes four categories; Kaizen, development of continual improvement, innovation in products and services and quality general test.
The judgment committee of this year competition consists of several outstanding figures in the field of business and development in the UAE. Committee members were selected based on their vast experience and actual contributions in their fields.
At the end of the symposium, DQG honored the winners of "Quality Test Competition" Symposium sponsors namely, Intercool Contracting Limited, Mini Tab, and Le Meridian Hotel Dubai.
Through its subgroups, DQG aspires to enhance and expand its activities in all events to reach the largest possible number of audience in order to encourage them to adopt standards of quality and organizational excellence and replace traditional business and management practices with modern and effective ones that should save time, money and efforts. To reach this end, Continual Improvement Subgroup regularly holds seminars, lectures, workshops and conferences.
