Digital TV Company Plans to Expand in UAE
About 200,000 homes in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah will be wired and ready for digital television by the end of the year if a local provider has its way, reported the Gulf News on Thursday.
Humaid Rashid Sahoo, chief executive of E-Vision, the UAE's digital cable television provider, hopes the company will have between 50,000 and 60,000 paid-up customers by the end of the year.
Already about 30,000 homes in Abu Dhabi and Dubai are wired for digital television, which is a service offering more than 70 channels.
E-Vision is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Emirates Telecommunications Corp. (Etisalat)– Albawaba.com
