Dubai Healthcare City Supports mHealth Conference and Expo in Dubai
Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), a member of TECOM Investments, today announced its support for the mHealth Conference and Expo which will take place in Dubai from 14-15 September. mHealth 2010 brings together experts in healthcare and information technology to discuss the global development of mobile healthcare and explore ways in which universal healthcare can be delivered with the aid of mobile technology.
Dr. Ayesha Abdullah, Executive Director, Dubai Healthcare City said: "The potential of mobile technology to transform healthcare delivery and patient care is tremendous. It can connect patients with their healthcare providers, enable faster communication between different healthcare professionals involved in the care of a patient, play a vital role in patient education and information provision and contribute to better gathering and analysis of healthcare data. At the same time, it is vital that this technology is developed and applied within a clear regulatory framework where patient confidentiality is respected and the integrity of mobile information is upheld.
"At DHCC we are using healthcare systems to connect our different clinics to deliver a more efficient and high quality service to patients as well as to collect information about patient care. We are also developing platforms to enable greater patient choice and easier access to information about our healthcare providers."
Steven Clarke, mHealth Conference Director said: "mHealth 2010 brings together leading players from across the entire mobile healthcare ecosystem. It will feature 35+ top executive presentations, global case studies and over 200 industry opinion leaders and decision makers. We are delighted to welcome DHCC as a supporting partner and have chosen to host the conference in Dubai and next to Dubai Healthcare City, because it is fast becoming a hub for innovation in healthcare and technology."
Mobile Health is a recent term for medical and public health practice supported by mobile devices, such as mobile phones, patient monitoring devices, PDAs, and other wireless devices and forms part of an increasing movement towards citizen-centered healthcare delivery.
mHealth 2010 is taking place between 14 and 15 September in the exclusive Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach Dubai, P.O. Box 282825 Dubai, UAE. The program starts at 8am with registration and morning refreshments following the chairperson's official opening discussion.
