DZC participates as a Silver Sponsor at Sixth Jordanian Businessmen and Investors Forum
The Development Zones Commission (DZC) announced its participation as a Silver Sponsor in the Sixth Jordanian Businessmen and Investors Forum, organized by the Jordanian Businessmen Association and the Jordan Investment Board (JIB) in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This year; held under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the forum will be at the Landmark Hotel in Amman on the 3rd and 4th of August under the heading of "Together We Build the Future Jordan".
The forum aims at communicating with the Jordanian businessmen at home and abroad as they constitute an integral element of the Jordanian investment development process due to the expertise and investments they possess in various fields. The forum also aims at highlighting the various changes that took place in the Kingdom's economic scene and the potential investment opportunities it offers in various sectors.
Furthermore, the forum serves as a platform for businessmen, the private sector and the public officials from economic and investment entities in Jordan, which will help formulate a strategic investment vision for the future.
Dr. Bilal Bashir, Chief Commissioner of the Development Zones Commission stressed on the importance of the forum, saying: "We look forward to our participation and to the interaction with the Jordanian businessmen. As we operate at the core of the investment field, we are tremendously optimistic as to what this conference will bring forth and to the businessmen expertise and feedback in our quest and a determination to develop the investment environment in Jordan at various sectors. This forum comes as a manifestation of His Majesty King Abdullah II directives engaging all concerned parties in the economic scene in the kingdom toward placing Jordan as an ideal investment hub in the region."
Dr. Bashir will present a brief during the forum highlighting the various investment opportunities in the development zones, its various investment sectors and the incentives offered.
DZC is the Jordanian governmental entity – financially and administratively autonomous– responsible for creating, regulating and monitoring the Development Zones in Jordan. Established in 2008, under the Development Zones Law, the Commission aims at increasing Jordan's Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), facilitating the creation of economic growth within certain zones towards enhancing the economic capability of the Kingdom, and creating an advanced investment environment for economic activities. DZC Board of Commissioners alongside to a One Stop Shop team administers, supervises and centrally approves comprehensive investment related administrative matters, expediting all governmental services quickly and efficiently in one location, while also providing a number of investment incentive and tax and customs exemptions.
DZC operates six development areas in various parts of the Kingdom, including the King Hussein Bin Talal Development Area in Mafraq, the Maan Development Area, the Irbid Development Area, the Dead Sea Development Area, the Jabal Ajloun Development Area and the Business Park Development Zone.
