Egypt, Syria Agree to Closer Health Ties
Egypt and Syria discussed Wednesday ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the health care sector, The Egyptian Gazette reported Thursday.
The topic topped the agenda of a meeting between Egypt’s health minister, Ismail Sallam, and his Syrian counterpart, Mohammed Eid el-Shati, in Damascus on the sidelines of the 10th session of the Arab Medical Specialization Fair.
Both sides, according to the paper, agreed to boost cooperation in doctor training, maintenance of medical equipment, heart surgeries and vaccines.
Sallam was quoted by the daily as saying that “Syria is keen to borrow Egyptian expertise in the medical field.” – Albawaba.com
