Egyptian Court Urged to Ban Islamist-Led Labor Party
A government-allied body on Monday urged an Egyptian court to disband the Islamist-led Labor Party, months before parliamentary elections, official sources said.
The Parties Committee submitted the request to the high administrative court, which was set Tuesday to decide the Labor Party's fate, the sources added.
In May, the parties committee froze the activities of the Labor Party, the country's sole Islamist party, and its Shaab newspaper because of an internal party power struggle - CAIRO (AFP)
