Ernst & Young and British Council collaborate to offer Cambridge International Certification in Financial English (ICFE)
Ernst & Young has joined hands with the British Council to offer the Cambridge International Certification in Financial English (ICFE) from the University of Cambridge ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Examination and ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).
The courses will be offered from October 2010 at Ernst & Young Training Center and prepare participants for the Cambridge ICFE awarded by the University of Cambridge ESOL and ACCA. This involves in-depth development of writing, speaking, listening and reading skills including financial vocabulary, presentations and the language of financial reporting and analysis. The program is expected to attract interest from the private, corporate and public sectors.
Waleed Al Osaimi, Office Managing Partner, Ernst & Young, Kuwait says: "We see this as an opportunity raise the bar for professionals and the industry in general. There is a strong need to develop talent with adequate skills to articulate the reporting and assessment process."
Andrew Burlton, Regional Teaching Center Manager (Kuwait & Qatar) for the British Council said he was very pleased that the British Council was able to work with an international company to create training opportunities in Kuwait.
Nadeem Shafi, Partner at Ernst & Young Kuwait, stressed that this collaboration is a perfect example of synergy, with the two organizations each bringing to the table their areas of strength – Finance & Accounting and English respectively. He adds: "Working in today's global economy, where communication is vital for career progression, the Cambridge ICFE certification will be a good certification for Finance & Accounting who are looking to develop their careers."
Ernst & Young Training already offers a range of finance and accounting related trainings to clients in Kuwait but was looking to enhance their range of internationally certified courses other than ACCA,CAT,CFA,CIA,CMA and PMI.
The British Council has been delivering quality English training in Kuwait since 1955 and has an established team of highly qualified trainers based in its Mansouriya centre.
