Expelled US Diplomat Leaves Sudan
United States diplomat Glenn Warren, who was ordered to leave Sudan after meeting opposition leaders accused of plotting a US-backed uprising, has left the country, western diplomats said Friday.
Warren, a political officer with the US embassy in Khartoum, flew to Nairobi after the meeting on Wednesday evening and before Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Ismail gave him 72 hours to get out, the diplomats said.
Ismail on Thursday ordered him to leave the country for "jeopardizing" Sudanese security by meeting with outlawed political groups during which he allegedly broached sensitive national security issues -- KHARTOUM (AFP)
