The world's cup holder, France national soccer team geared up their Euro2000 warm-up by smashing Morocco 5-1, and celebrating Hassan II Tournament trophy, Tuesday in Casablanca.
In the first half, Arsenal's Theirry Hennery got the blues of the mark with a single leading goal, followed by 4 more French goals in the second half came respectively from Youri Djorkaeff, Christophe Dugarry, Nicolas Anelka and Sylvain Wiltord.
On the French side, this enjoyable victory came just on time, five days ahead of the Euro 2000 campaign, satisfying their coach Roger Lemerre who deeply appreciated the glamorous victory.
The Associated France Press quoted the happy coach as saying "bravo again to the blues. The players out there tonight showed they were in a very good form physically, tactically and mentally," proudly added that "they are players of a very high level."
After the tricky start, Henrry snatched a delightful goal from Anelka's cross ball, which he knew how to host it into the Moroccans' net. Henrry foxed both the defender and the keeper when he pretended twice to shoot, fouling the defender first and then the keeper Khalid Fouhami who slipped into the opposite corner of the net.
Late in the 40th minute, the local boys had a golden opportunity to tie the visitors when they got a penalty kick, but Youssef Safari's shot went a little bit wide, hitting the cross bar of Lama's.
France's second goal came in the 56th minutes from a penalty kick, which led the Moroccan players to restructure themselves by packing up the midfielders and attackers inside their own field only.
This tactic, however, succeeded in blocking France's attacks, but kept home very far from their opponent's net.
When there were fifteen minutes to go from the match, the Moroccans pushed forward in an attempt to improve the result, but this move weakened their defense line again in front of France's strikers who added 3 goals in the last ten minutes – Albawaba.com
