Gas explosion kills one, injures six in Tehran
A gas cylinder exploded Monday in a Tehran workshop killing one person, wounding six others and destroying part of the building, witnesses said.
The explosion took place at 8:30 am (local time) at an underground workshop that makes gold jewelry in an alley near the city's bazaar, Abolfazd Seraj, who lives across the street from the shop, said, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
There was no immediate comment from officials with regards to the casualties.
Earlier, state-run Tehran radio said the explosion resulted in "loss of human life and damage to buildings."
Part of the three-story building where the workshop is situated at was destroyed, SPA added. The blast in the southern area of Tehran also shattered windows of a nearby building. (Albawaba.com)
