Three Palestinians killed in unexplained Gaza Strip explosion
Three Palestinians were injured and five were wounded on Wednesday after an explosion went off in the Gaza Strip, a medical official reported.
The reason behind the blast is unclear, Agence France Presse (AFP) reported.
The three men were already dead on their arrival at hospital and were all in their 20s, Hamas' health ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra told AFP.
Qudra said the other five injured in the blast were all in serious condition.
According to eyewitnesses, the explosion occurred at a training camp belonging to Hamas' armed wing, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, which lies east of Khan Younis city in Gaza. As of yet, it is still unclear what caused the blast, according to AFP.
Last month, one Qassam Brigades member was killed and six were injured after an explosion went off during a "training session in bomb-making" near Rafah, near the Egyptian border.
