GE Energy, a leading supplier of power generation and energy delivery technologies, is showcasing its range of cleaner, reliable and more efficient energy technologies at the World Future of Energy Summit to be held from January 21 to 23, 2008, at the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre. GE will exhibit its innovative technologies in harnessing wind and solar energy, gas engine-based power generation, heavy duty and aeroderivative gas turbines, optimization and control systems, and transmission, distribution and service offerings.
The World of Future Energy Summit is a path-breaking event that will cover a wide range of issues relating to World Future Energy policies and strategies, projects, technologies and commercial realities. The Summit, expected to draw over 10,000 visitors from around the world, will also focus on carbon management, alternative fuels and energy sources, green property and sustainable architecture.
“We are a proud partner of the Abu Dhabi government’s Masdar initiative, and we look forward to bringing in our expertise in energy, technology and infrastructure to meet today's environmental challenges,” said Nabil Habayeb, President & CEO, Middle East and Africa.
The Masdar initiative is Abu Dhabi’s multi-faceted response to the need for a global focus on resource conservation and the alternative energy sector. It is designed to ensure in the long term that Abu Dhabi retains and even grows its share of the global energy market.
Joe Anis, Region Executive for the Middle East, GE Energy, said: “By hosting the World Future of Energy Summit, the UAE is reiterating the importance it places on developing alternatives for cleaner and reliable sources of energy, which has a key role in addressing the concerns of climate change. GE Energy has been in the forefront of cleaner, reliable and more efficient energy solutions, highlighted further by our ecomagination initiative that helps our customers meet pressing environmental challenges.”
He added: “GE Energy’s participation at the World Future of Energy Summit by highlighting a broad range of technologies complements our already pioneering role in introducing alternative sources of more cost effective and more efficient energy to the region. GE has been working since 1966 in supplying and constructing power generation equipment and facilities throughout the Middle East.”
GE’s exhibit will be located at Booth No. 80 at the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre. The exhibit will be open from 10am to 5pm on January 21, 22 and 23.
