Greece Foreign Minister to visit Saudi Kingdom
The Greek foreign minister was to fly to Saudi Arabia on Thursday for discussions on the situation in the Middle East, the Greek foreign ministry said.
George Papandreou, who returned from an official visit to China earlier on Wednesday, was to meet with his Saudi counterpart Saud al-Faisal in the capital Riyadh before returning to Athens later in the evening, the ministry said.
Papandreou has been planning to visit Israel with his Turkish counterpart Ismail Cem to try to help negotiate an end to hostilities in the area. A date for the visit has not yet been set, the ministry said, according to The Jerusalem Post.
The Minister traveled to Egypt last week for discussions on the Middle East situation. (Albawaba.com)
