• Safety in numbers: More than 8,000 visitors from 54 countries
• Opportunity knocks: Multi million dollar deals
• Distinguished delegates: Over 850 conference-goers
Abu Dhabi, 7 March 2010: The International Security and National Resilience (ISNR) Exhibition and Conference closed last week an overwhelmingly positive note, registering a record number of 8,000 visitors. Two hundred and eighteen companies from 24 countries exhibited their state-of-the-art homeland security solutions and products at the show.
Official delegations led by international government ministers and other state and private dignitaries were among those who attended, representing a total of 54 nations at the three day event held in Abu Dhabi. Multi million dollar deals were concluded between government agencies and exhibitors at the show.
General Major Matar S. Bin Mesayed Al Neyadi, General Director of E-Services & Telecom, Chairman of Supreme Organizing Committee, ISNR, said that the huge 48% growth in the number of exhibiting companies, comparing with 2008 edition, would create even more interest in the next show. "This has been a fantastic response, and we thank all those who supported ISNR 2010, including organizers, sponsors, exhibitors, visitors and representatives of the media. Their tremendous efforts have helped to make this a very professional, very beneficial and very successful event all round, and we ask them for their continued contributions in order to achieve even more milestones."
The gathering of world class experts in homeland security, national resilience and safety was held under the patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and support of His Highness Lt. General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and was organized by Reed Exhibitions.
ISNR 2010 included a high level conference, attended by more than 850 members, and a series of workshops, presented by an elite group of advisors, suggesting innovative solutions to today’s homeland security challenges. The sessions were aimed at raising awareness on the most pressing issues, including counter-terrorism, cyber-security, intelligence and threat assessment, crisis management, border and transport security, critical infrastructure protection, and emergency preparedness and response.
Frederic Theux, President of Reed Exhibitions, said: “The ISNR conference and exhibition has definitely grown in size and importance. We have seen a considerable increase in the number of participants and attendees, and multi million dollar business deals have been agreed. It has been another great example of how to generate business by introducing potential to investment."
He added: “We are very pleased with the level of discussion that the conference and workshops initiated and the number of high ranking security and military representatives who were involved. We believe this achievement could have not been possible without the support of the Ministry of Interior and our strategic partners, who made huge efforts to make this a highly successful event.”
ISNR 2010 was organized by the Ministry of Interior with cooperation from Reed Exhibitions; its strategic partners included the Critical National Infrastructure Authority (CNIA) and Northrop Grumman. Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRA), CERT.ae, Advanced Integrated Systems were its official sponsors with Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) as co sponsors.
