Hizbollah Fires Anti-Tank Missiles at Israeli Post in Shabaa
The Lebanese resistance movement, Hizbollah, fired two anti-tank missiles at an Israeli army post in the disputed Shabaa Farms on Monday, Israeli Radio said.
According to the radio station, there were no injuries, and only minor damage was caused to the outpost itself.
This is the first reaction by Hizbollah since a Syrian radar station was destroyed by Israeli warplanes in retaliation for the killing of an Israeli soldier by the Lebanese group in April.
Lebanese witnesses and security sources told Reuters that rockets hit the outpost, adding that the Israeli army retaliated by shelling territory in south Lebanon.
Israel ended its 22-year occupation of south Lebanon almost exactly a year ago.
The United Nations certified the Israeli withdrawal as complete, determining that Shabaa Farms belong to Syria. Lebanon, backed by the Syrians, says the area is part of its territory – Albawaba.com
