Honeywell Emea Users’ Group Helps Industry Leaders Succeed In A Changing Business Environment
Honeywell (NYSE:HON) recently hosted its annual users group for customers from Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in Seville, Spain. This year’s conference theme “Adapting to Change,” equipped attendees with strategies and tools to maintain long-term competitive advantage in a changing global business environment. Honeywell’s Experion® Process Knowledge System (PKS) R300, wireless technology, corrosion and energy management and emissions solutions were also the focus of this year’s event.
This year’s conference featured the most extensive and comprehensive agenda to date, with approximately 120 presentations from industry experts. The program also included an extensive exhibit area, showcasing the latest Honeywell technology, with live demonstrations on wireless and corrosion solutions, Experion R300, and refining solutions from UOP, a Honeywell company. Honeywell partners played prominent roles at the conference, including representatives from MTL, manufacturer of process control instrumentation and Integraph, provider of software engineering tools.
Numerous Honeywell customers from a variety of industries attended the event, including Bayer Technology Services, BP, ExxonMobil, Huntsman, Repsol, Sonatrach and Stora Enso. The event also achieved record sponsorship from companies including Barco, Cisco Systems, Inc., Flowserve Corporation, IBM, Intergraph Corporation, Microsoft, Pepperl+Fuchs, ProSys, MTL Relcom Inc., and Turck.
In line with the Adapting to Change theme, highlights of the conference included a session by cyber security expert, Eric Byres of Byres Security Inc., on the shifting focus of the hacker community and the risk to process automation, and a presentation by Control magazine editor Walt Boyes on the threat to knowledge retention in the process industries from the growing shortage of engineers.
