Hotel veteran Lothar Quarz takes charge as General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, DIFC
Lothar Quarz has been appointed as the new general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), announced Pascal Duchauffour, area vice president for Europe, Middle East and Africa of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. A German national, Mr Quarz will be responsible for positioning The Ritz-Carlton, DIFC as one of the top luxury hotels in this dynamic city, showcasing the best in "comfortably elegant" designs combined with The Ritz-Carlton's legendary service.
Mr. Quarz has over 27 years of senior management experience in the luxury hotel industry. Most recently, he was the general manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Wolfsburg, right in the heart of the famed Autostadt theme park. He moved into that role from the hotel manager position at The Ritz-Carlton, Berlin where he also oversaw the sales and marketing division of that property and Berlin Marriott Hotel. A culinary aficionado, Mr. Quarz started his hospitality career as an apprentice chef and grew through the ranks to become a gourmet restaurant chef. He then moved from the kitchen to sales where he applied his culinary knowledge in a catering capacity before taking on his first position as director of sales and marketing.
