Cambridge International Systems, a leading provider of integrated C4ISR solutions for the U.S. government's most demanding international security needs, announced today that it has been selected by the U.S. Navy to provide a Maritime Surveillance System to the Iraqi Navy. The delivery order, valued at approximately $6 million, was competitively awarded under an existing Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWARSYSCOM) indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract.

The Iraqi Maritime Surveillance System will provide the Iraqi Navy with improved command and control capabilities to efficiently monitor and protect Iraq's strategic maritime assets and territorial waters. It will also integrate with existing surveillance systems and components and will also be fully interoperable with the Iraqi Navy's recently purchased patrol boats and offshore support vessels. Under this delivery order, Cambridge will provide new mobile (ashore) surveillance systems and various communications upgrades.

"We look forward to the opportunity to provide the Iraqi Navy with a robust maritime domain awareness capability, and to deliver a turnkey system that will significantly enhance Iraq's maritime surveillance and command and control capabilities," said Steve Wells, vice president of the Cambridge C4ISR Solutions business unit, located in San Diego, Calif.

Kim Harokopus, chief executive officer of Cambridge International Systems, said, "The Iraqi Navy Maritime Surveillance System supports a cornerstone of the U.S. efforts to provide stability and security in this region. We are honored to once again be selected as the Navy's provider for maritime surveillance systems."

Cambridge is a leading integrator of maritime security systems and has provided vendor-neutral solutions for a variety of U.S. and foreign partners, including the Republic of the Philippines and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
